Toyota has unveiled a facelifted version of its popular Corolla Cross compact SUV for the 2024 model year. The refreshed Corolla Cross features updated exterior styling, new comfort and safety features, and some mechanical changes under the hood.
The most noticeable change is to the Corolla Cross’s front fascia. Toyota has redesigned the grille, adding more chrome accents and a new mesh pattern. The headlights have also been restyled and now feature LED projector beams across all trim levels. At the rear, Toyota has added new LED taillights and refreshed the lower bumper.
Inside, Toyota has upgraded the infotainment system to include a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen display with the latest software and connectivity. A new onboard WiFi hotspot allows up to five devices to connect. Toyota has also added dual-zone automatic climate control to higher trim options.
On the safety front, all 2024 Corolla Cross models will come standard with the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system. This includes pre-collision braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure alerts with steering assist, road sign assist, and full-speed adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, and safe exit assist are also newly standard.
Mechanically, the 2024 Corolla Cross continues to offer the choice of two four-cylinder engines: a 169-hp 2.0-liter on base front-wheel-drive models or a 169-hp 2.5-liter on higher trims with all-wheel drive options. Both engines now come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission for smoother shifting.
“We’ve taken Toyota’s popular small SUV and enhanced both its style and substance for 2024,” said Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda. “With bold new looks, the latest tech and safety, and refined performance, we’re excited for the upgrades coming to the Corolla Cross.”
In summary, Toyota’s 2024 refresh of the Corolla Cross brings updated exterior styling, new interior tech and comfort features, the latest driver assistance safety systems, and some mild mechanical improvements.
The enhanced 2024 Corolla Cross provides practicality and personality to Toyota’s entry in the competitive small crossover segment. Pricing and fuel efficiency ratings will be announced closer to the on-sale date early next year.
