If you’ve ever wished for a faster, more scenic way to travel between Mumbai to Goa M2M Ferries might just have the answer. The company, well-known for its popular Mumbai–Mandwa ferry route, is developing an exciting new Ropax ferry service that promises to cut travel time between the two coastal hotspots to just 6.5 hours—a significant reduction from the usual 10 to 12-hour road journey.

What’s the Plan?

M2M Ferries has acquired a 15-year-old Ropax vessel from Italy, currently undergoing maintenance and retrofitting in Mumbai. The ship is designed to carry around 620 passengers and 60 vehicles, making it ideal for travelers looking to bring their own cars or bikes along for the ride.

The proposed route will run from Ferry Wharf in Mazgaon, Mumbai, to Mormugao Port in Goa. Additionally, there are ongoing discussions to include a docking point at Panaji, which would greatly enhance accessibility for passengers heading to the heart of Goa.

Approvals and Affordability

As of now, the ferry service is awaiting final approvals from the Directorate General of Shipping and other regulatory authorities. M2M Ferries is also in talks with the government to secure subsidies aimed at keeping ticket prices affordable for the general public.

When Will It Launch?

While an official launch date hasn’t been confirmed yet, M2M Ferries is optimistic about getting the green light soon. Until then, eager travelers should stay tuned to M2M’s official website and social media channels for the latest updates on launch timelines, ticket pricing, and booking options.
